What is Music Therapy?
“Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.” (The American Music Therapy Association, 2010).
Music Therapy Scholarships
The Fort Worth Music Therapy Fund provides music therapy scholarships to individuals and facilities seeking private music therapy services.

To apply for a Fort Worth Music Therapy Fund Client Scholarship, begin by connecting with a board-certified music therapist in your area. Music therapists must be CBMT credentialed. For more information, click here.
Both you and the board-certified music therapist will complete the online scholarship application. Applications are accepted year-round and scholarships are awarded quarterly.
The Fort Worth Music Therapy Fund will confirm that you and your board-certified music therapist are ready to begin treatment. We will directly reimburse the music therapist providing treatment.
Music Therapy scholarship applications opening soon
The Fort Worth Music Therapy Fund also provides intern scholarships to music therapy students completing an internship as part of their course requirements for an accredited music therapy program.
Each Intern Scholarship:
- is $2,500
- Is paid directly to the music therapy intern
